We are recruiting for a Timber Yard on the outskirts of Selby who are looking for an experienced Prouction Manager, ideally with experience of timber manufacturing, supporting Supervisors and Production Staff of this well-known and well-established leading timber engineering specialist who enjoy the very latest in manufacturing processes. You may be a Team Leader or Supervisor looking to further your career as a Production Manager, with production and/or warehouse experience and an understanding of stock control systems. More important we are seeking an Assistant Production Manager who is an effective and motivating team leader with a passion for planning and working towards KPI’s. Specification of disired candidate:
Production and warehouse experience
Timber manufacturing industry knowledge highly desirable
Experience in managing KPI’s and working to budgets
Knowledge of optimisation processes and software
Understanding of principles of manufacturing process
Understanding of stock control systems
Proactive with strong leadership qualities.
Commercially aware
Proven effective leadership skills
Planning and organisation

Key responsibilities – Production Manager:
Manage and support Team Leaders and Production staff
Plan and coordinate the workload of production teams to achieve production targets
Manage KPIs – review and report production performance on a daily basis; identify and implement opportunities for improving efficiency
Ensure production quality and standards are met
Ensure production paperwork is issued and correctly completed
Ensure production equipment is correctly used and maintained
Control and maintain stock by using systems such as Kanban and other bespoke software systems
People management activities which may include training, attendance and employee meetings
You will be required to undertake manufacturing activities
Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to
