We are currently looking for a CNC Programmer to join a company who have been providing creative construction, manufacture and engineering for over 30 years. They deliver scenic and engineering solutions to a range of sectors including events, ceremonies, art installations, pavilions, theatre and TV & film. With over 14,000sqm of manufacturing space just outside of York, they are fully equipped
The role is working within the Machining Department producing components for bespoke projects. The CNC Programmer is responsible for producing programs using relevant software. They are also responsible for operating machines for which they are trained.
Key responsibilities in this role will include;
Use relevant software to produce programs from DXF or 3D model
Safely operate machines
Carry out daily pre-use machine checks
Carry out machine maintenance as required
Read and understand engineering drawings
Problem solve, whether programming or operating machinery
Work with a wide variety of materials including woods, plastics, foams, model board
Check that completed work meets specifications and standards
Complete relevant documentation for tasks either paper or computer based
Undertake training and development into operating/ programming 5 axis machine as required.
Clearly communicate all relevant information including job progress and any problems and/or issues
Help to manage the quality control of finished items.
Ensure that production items and tasks are completed in accordance with the QMS.
Adhere to all Health & Safety Regulations and promote a safe working environment by actively incorporating H&S into everyday activities.
Hours of work for this company are Monday-Friday, 7.30am – 16.00pm, with overtime regularly available and the occasional request to work weekends during busy period.
The salary for this role will be between £28,000 – £31,000, experience depending.
