We are recruiting for our customer who is an exciting IT Company based in Hull who have sustained continuous growth and require a Senior IT Engineer to join their team. We are looking for someone who is able to work on their own initiative, install IT hardware, having good IT technical knowledge with excellent fault-finding skills. As a Senior IT Engineer, your duties will include but not be limited to:
Implementation and management of new projects.
Microsoft 365 migrations.
Facilitate and Build, installation and configuration of hardware and software for Servers, Firewalls, Routers, switches, Desktops, Printers and other peripherals.
Have knowledge of systems such as DHCP, DNS, VPN etc.
Have in Depth knowledge of Server support and Microsoft Azure.
Wi-Fi installations in complex environments.
Local and Wide Area Networking, remote connectivity, VPNs Firewalls and security.
Investigating and correcting problems logged by clients.
Production of Service Desk and service performance documentation.
Liaison with, and co-ordination of, specialist third party providers.
Managing and using the Proactive Monitoring system.
Backfill to Level 1 support when needed.
Provide Level 2 problem escalation and support.
Ensuring projects are completed quickly and on time.
To be a successful Senior IT Engineer, you will have the following skills and experiences:
If you have worked as an IT Engineer, IT Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Support Engineer or have experience working within an IT Help Desk environment then we would be interested in speaking with you.
Technical Skills Required;
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Servers and Microsoft 365 systems.
In depth knowledge of Cyber Security strategies and principles.
Knowledge of TCP/IP networks and associated networking devices.
High end experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active directory, Group Policy and associated server hardware.
Experience of configuring and supporting Microsoft Cloud technologies – Azure, Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams.
Knowledge of Windows Desktop operating systems
Dealing with WAN, remote connectivity, VIOP systems, VPNs and network security.
Excellent understanding of Group Policy, DNS and DCHP fault finding.
Outstanding communication with the team and our clients.
And in return, a Senior IT Engineer will receive a salary of up to £35,000 depending on experience. Working Monday to Friday with occasional on call responsibilities.

Working 8:30am to 5:30pm – 10% of the time will be working at customers sites and as such you will need to have a UK DVLA car license. On call can work from home, but if emergency you may need to go into the office or the client’s place of work. On call rota (1 in 4 weeks £100 per week while on call) from 6 am until 11 pm weekdays and 9 – 5 weekends
